provide a positive, affordable theater experience for the Augusta area. They do this by presenting exciting productions with talented local cast members working under experienced stage direction. They offer a season of musical and non-musical theater with a mixture of serious and comic plays.
Monmouth Community Players are privileged to perform at historic Cumston Hall located near the center of Monmouth, Maine. Directions and parking information are included here along with its history, current productions and special events.
MCP announces its Spring performance of the play 'Moonlight and Magnolias' by Ron Hutchinson.
Performance dates are March 23, 24, 25, 30, 31, and April 1. All productions will be held at Cumston Hall.
If you've ever wondered how the movie
'Gone With the Wind'
was made, now's your chance to peek behind the scenes.
The plot is: Well, three men in a locked room for five days, living on bananas and peanuts, turn Margaret Mitchell's novel, 'Gone With the Wind' into one of the greatest screenplays of all times!

MCP Vacation Theater Camp
April 2012
Students, spend your vacation learning the art of stagecraft with Colleen Mahan, professionally trained actor, director and vocalist, and Chair of MCP! The camp will run Mon., April 16 through Fri., April 20, 9:00 a.m.-11 a.m. for Teens, and 11:30 a.m.-1:00 a.m. for ages 7-12.

Sessions will consist of physical and vocal warm-ups; theater games to assist with stage presence, storytelling, characterization, listening, and physicality; and possible assignments of monologues, scene work, staging a story or poem. Reading and some memorization will be required.
The week will conclude with a presentation of works-in-progress to family and friends, on Fri., April 20 at 7:00 p.m. The camps and presentation will all be held in the Cumston Hall Theater,796 Main St., Monmouth.
